Alberta Licensing Requirements

To enrol in the ABST course and apply for your security worker licence, you must meet all of the following provincial requirements.

18 Years of Age

You must be at least 18 years old at the time of application.

โœ“

Canadian Citizen or Legally Entitled to Work

Citizens, permanent residents, or holders of valid Canadian work authorization.

โœ“

Fluent in English (Benchmark Level 5)

Canadian Language Benchmark Level 5 or equivalent in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Clear Police Information Check

A current criminal record check with no disqualifying offences.

Provincial Licensing Fee
$100 CAD
Paid directly to the Government of Alberta when you submit your security worker licence application. This fee is separate from course tuition.
